ER experienceJob Description:Join a dynamic team in a Level 4 Trauma Center and Acute Stroke Ready Hospital.Contribute to providing top-notch care by managing an average of 50-60 patients daily with a favorable nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.Handle a variety of cases such as abdominal pain, strokes, cardiac situations, trauma, ENT, and respiratory issues.Conduct triage including bedside triage when possible, and make use of designated triage spaces when the ER beds are at capacity.Collaborate with ED physicians available 24/7, along with mid-level staff working 12-hour shifts from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.Work under the guidance of a charge nurse who will also share patient responsibilities.Receive ample support from CNA/Techs for ADLs, room maintenance, and EKGs.Access RT staff in-house from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with on-call support after hours, who will assist with ABGs, breathing treatments, EKGs, and intubated patients.Utilize modern monitoring equipment including Mind Ray and Zoll monitors and manage ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen with RT assistance.Benefit from ready access to X-ray and CT facilities within the hospital, with techs available for patient transport as necessary.Participate in lab draws and IV starts as well as phlebotomy draws when no IV is present.Enjoy flexible scheduling options including self-scheduling and block scheduling considerations.Be prepared to work holidays and weekends as needed, with potential on-call opportunities during low census periods.Opportunity to float to MS/ICU or OB departments if necessary.Maintain a professional appearance with a dress code requiring black scrubs.Engage in a comprehensive orientation, typically involving 2.5 days of department-specific training.Charting is performed using the Meditech system, ensuring everything is documented efficiently.
