Job Summary: Food Technologist/ Laboratory Technician to aid in ingredient applications and functionality evaluations
Responsibilities: - Aid in the development of new ingredient technology for sugar reduction and sodium reduction in Client and beverage products
- Conduct bench top and pilot plant trials to optimize formulation and processes
- Perform functional evaluations of new ingredients and record results
- Perform sensory testing of prototypes and coordinate expert panel sensory tests
- Perform shelf-life and stability evaluations
- Coordinate team evaluations on a regular basis
- Submit prototypes for analytical testing and compile results
- Communicate with suppliers for ingredient requests and information
- Write progress reports
- Maintain and organize laboratory and supplies
- Ensure laboratory safety
Requirements: - B.S. in Food Science or similar field and 2 years' experience
- Ability to provide sensory descriptions of foods and beverages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good record-keeping and organization
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
Education: Bachelors Degree
