Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Personal Injury Litigator to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive litigation experience and a proven track record of success in personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, catastrophic injuries, and other complex claims. This role involves managing a diverse caseload, attending trials, mentoring junior associates and being able to represent at trial on their cases, and delivering outstanding results for their clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management & Litigation:
- Handle a comprehensive caseload of personal injury files from inception to resolution.
- Conduct all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions, mediations, and trials.
- Develop and execute effective legal strategies to maximize client outcomes.
- Represent clients in court, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.
Client Relations:
- Provide compassionate, knowledgeable, and transparent guidance to clients throughout the litigation process.
- Maintain regular communication to ensure clients are informed and supported.
Leadership & Mentorship:
- Mentor junior lawyers, law clerks, and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and share expertise to enhance overall team performance.
Legal Research & Writing:
- Perform legal research to support cases and draft high-quality legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Stay updated on legal precedents and changes in personal injury law.
Business Development:
- Actively participate in marketing and networking initiatives to build the firm’s reputation and client base.
- Cultivate relationships with referral sources and contribute to the growth of the personal injury practice.
Qualifications:
- Education: LL.B or J.D. from an accredited law school; admission to the bar
- Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of experience, with at least the recent few being as a personal injury litigator with a strong trial record.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in managing complex personal injury cases, including catastrophic injuries and high-value claims.
- Legal Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of tort law, insurance law, and accident benefits.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Leadership: Proven ability to mentor junior team members and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Technology: Proficiency in legal case management software and standard office tools.
