CDSI Job Description: Engineering Manager

We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Engineering Manager to oversee a team of engineers, leading projects by planning, coordinating, and supervising their work to ensure successful project execution of our Telemetry/EW and Radar digital beamforming projects.
The successful candidate will incorporate the five principles of engineering management:

The ideal engineering manager will combine his/her technical know-how with strong soft skills such as a clear communication style, team leadership, and mentoring skills. The engineering manager’s responsibilities will include obtaining commitments and ensuring delivery schedules are met; resolving schedule obstacles or conflicts; ensuring environmental compliance with designs; meeting all customer performance and technical requirements, and all quality requirements; and communicating with customers (internal and external), suppliers, and other entities such as regulatory agencies.

Job Duties:
- Designs, implements, and refines product development, and testing processes.
- Oversees staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
- Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes, with an emphasis on timely delivery, quality, producibility, and cost.
- Employs good practices such as the use of failure modes and effect analyses, trade studies, design of experiments, and others.
- Works with Project Management and Master Scheduler to project logistics and resource allocation.
- Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste and variability in production.
- Assists in securing the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments.
- Assists in the creation of integrated master schedules and project budgets, and engages in cost management strategies.
- Attends trade shows and conferences, and makes site visits to suppliers’ facilities as required.
- Advocates on behalf of team members by identifying any gaps that may need additional resources for success.
- Communicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal operations.
- Maintains a high level of expertise in their field or sector.
- Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
- Collaborates with other team leaders and departments.
- Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and internal and external customers.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- BS in engineering required
- 4-5 years relevant work experience
- 4-5 years management experience
- Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms
- Experience using ERP software
- Master’s degree in engineering or MBA a plus

Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 Annual
NOTE : CDSI conducts Education, Employment, Driver and Criminal Background Checks and provides Social Security Administration and/or Department of Homeland Security employee’s I-9 Form to confirm work authorization.
Candidate must have authorization to work in the United States.
CDSI is an AS9100D certified workplace.
