  • BLS
    Job Requirements
  • BLS certification required
  • Prefer to have surgical experience, post-op, early ambulation experience
  • First time travelers acceptable
  • No requirement for RNs to titrate drips
  • Experience with occasional heparin drip, PCA pump, TPN
    Schedule Information
  • Shifts are 0700-1930, 1900-0730
  • Manager will create the schedule
  • 7-7 rotation will not occur more than weekly
  • Block scheduling possible if unit needs are met
  • Weekend requirement: every other
  • Floating to medical and telemetry units required
    Unit Specific Information
  • Nurse to Patient Ratios are 1:4-5 during Days, 1:5-6 during Nights
  • Charge Nurse present on both shifts, may take a low acuity assignment during the night
  • Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit at a ratio of 1:12
  • Nasal cannula typically used, RT does treatments
  • Use of remote tele packs, with a monitor tech to read and interpret
  • RNs are not required to read their own strips
    Additional Details
  • Radius Rule: 50 miles exclusion zone
  • No employment overlap with facilities associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
  • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract)
