Certification Details BLS Job Requirements BLS certification required Prefer to have surgical experience, post-op, early ambulation experience First time travelers acceptable No requirement for RNs to titrate drips Experience with occasional heparin drip, PCA pump, TPN Schedule Information Shifts are 0700-1930, 1900-0730 Manager will create the schedule 7-7 rotation will not occur more than weekly Block scheduling possible if unit needs are met Weekend requirement: every other Floating to medical and telemetry units required Unit Specific Information Nurse to Patient Ratios are 1:4-5 during Days, 1:5-6 during Nights Charge Nurse present on both shifts, may take a low acuity assignment during the night Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit at a ratio of 1:12 Nasal cannula typically used, RT does treatments Use of remote tele packs, with a monitor tech to read and interpret RNs are not required to read their own strips Additional Details Radius Rule: 50 miles exclusion zone No employment overlap with facilities associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract)
