About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its national advocacy organization. The CEO will be responsible for strategic leadership, engaging the Board of Directors, and guiding the team to meet short- and long-term goals. A key aspect of the role is fundraising and external relationships, including serving as the chief spokesperson and championing the organization's mission. The successful candidate will be expected to attract and cultivate donors, develop comprehensive marketing and development approaches, and ensure that funds are strategically allocated. Organizational leadership and management are also crucial, involving the recruitment, management, and mentorship of passionate staff, as well as ensuring sound financial and operational oversight.The ideal CEO will have significant senior management experience in a nonprofit connected to the medical world, with a focus on disease-related advocacy. They should have a proven track record in fundraising, strategic planning, and leading high-performing teams. The role requires a leader who is a compelling communicator, a bridge-builder, and is entrepreneurial, creative, and adaptable. A minimum of a B.A. degree, ideally with an advanced degree, is required. The candidate should be committed to the mission of the organization, which is to increase public awareness about the disease, advance research, and provide support services to the community.
