About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to join their dynamic advancement team. The CDO will be the primary fundraiser for their assigned unit, responsible for securing major and principal gifts to advance the Dean's priorities. This role requires a proven track record in fundraising, with a focus on closing six and seven-figure gifts from individuals, and occasionally from corporations and foundations. The successful candidate will carry a portfolio of prospects, develop and implement prospect strategies, and work closely with a range of colleagues to build engagement and secure gifts on behalf of the College. The ideal CDO for The Company will be an experienced, creative, and forward-thinking leader, with a hands-on approach to fundraising. They will be expected to have an active portfolio of prospects, with specific goals for prospect visits and major gift solicitations. Collaboration is key, as the CDO will work closely with various teams, including Gift Planning, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Annual Giving, and the Alumni Association. The role demands a high level of commitment, including the availability and willingness to work outside standard business hours, and requires both local and some national travel. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a 10-figure campaign and make a transformational impact within the organization.
