About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead the strategic evaluation, execution, and expansion of its comprehensive development and communications program. The CDO will play a pivotal role in the organization's major capital campaign, with a focus on resource development strategies to sustain operational needs in a new, larger facility. This is an opportunity to be part of a historic effort to transform and rebuild the community center into a more expansive and inclusive space for all LGBTQIA+ individuals. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and capital campaign committees, managing a team, and working closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.The ideal CDO for the company will have a proven track record in nonprofit development, including experience in major gift fundraising, grant writing, and donor stewardship. They should be adept at creating and implementing innovative fundraising strategies and be able to effectively communicate the mission and vision of the organization to a diverse range of stakeholders. A deep commitment to the values of the LGBTQIA+ community and a strong understanding of the social and cultural issues it faces are essential. The role requires a leader who is not only passionate about the cause but also capable of inspiring and mobilizing others to support the organization's work. A background in capital campaign management and experience in a senior leadership role within a nonprofit setting are highly desirable.
