Job Title: Sr. Oracle PL/SQL Developer
Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite Each Week

looking for someone with extensive PL/SQL programming experience with creating applications and not just SQL experience.
- 12+ years of experience in Software development
- 9+ years of strong development experience using Oracle PL/SQL including experience using features like Analytical functions, merge statements, WITH clause, oracle partitioning, job logging, exception handling, performance tuning
- 9+ years of experience in Oracle 12c or 19c
- 4+ years of experience in a Data Warehouse environment

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develop Oracle PL/SQL applications.
o Create Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, and functions. Create database objects like tables, views, triggers, types, synonyms based on requirements. Create new applications or enhance existing applications to produce commissions reports.
o Work with Manager/IT Lead to understand requirements, create technical design, analyze source tables and relationships, adhere to consistent coding/SVN standards, and provide daily status updates.
o Work with the Commissions analyst to understand the existing calculations process for each workstream and build, test, and UAT according to their expectations.
o Use Oracle Analytical functions, MERGE statements, WITH clause, Partitioning, Job logging, File handling, External tables, and Exception handling in the Oracle PL/SQL code.
o Optimize code by following performance tuning techniques and coding standards established within the team.
o Create and test Unix scripts to transfer reports from Unix server to Windows share using sFTP server
o Perform Unit testing and end to end System testing of the Oracle PL/SQL application. Prior to UAT submission test and compare the reports to Production calc. reports and identify and fix discrepancies.
o Use analytics skills to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly
o Use SVN to maintain all database object scripts/source code. Follow versioning standards established by the team.
o Have code reviewed with IT lead prior to moving the code to QA environment
o Create ControlM/Redwood job documents, create Change requests, and work with ControlM/Redwood to get them created and scheduled.
o Use ServiceNow ticketing system for opening, handling, and closing tickets and change requests.
o Follow SOX procedures for code deployment.
• Perform production support.
o Monitor batch processes daily/weekly/monthly and resolve job failures as soon as possible to meet established SLAs.
o Work with ControlM/Redwood group on re-run/re-start instructions.
o Be willing to perform this off hours during weekdays and weekends.
o Fulfill ad-hoc requests for data pull, table updates or minor enhancements.
• Work effectively in a team environment.
o Develop strong working relationship with team members, Manager, Commissions team analysts, DBA team, Project Manager, and other IT groups.
o Independently work on tasks without the need for step by step Supervision
o Communicate progress or issues clearly either verbally or through email.
o Escalate issues or delays that would impact deadline as early in the process as possible.
