Senior Data Scientist


Our client, a leading U.S. alternative asset management company, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their Business Application and Data Science team. The Senior Data Scientist must have experience in generative model training, data sampling techniques, and natural language processing (NLP). As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of advanced analytical models and algorithms to support decision-making and strategic planning within the organization. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week onsite in either Orlando, Florida, or Newton, Massachusetts.



Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced generative models for various business applications
  • Utilize platforms such as Dataiku, Datarobot, and Databricks for efficient data preparation, exploration, and modeling
  • Implement and optimize models using Azure ML and AI tools to improve business performance
  • Employ data sampling techniques to train and validate models for accuracy and efficiency
  • Develop and refine natural language processing (NLP) models to address key business needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges and devise data-driven solutions
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders



Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data science, specializing in generative model training, NLP, and the use of Azure ML/AI tools
  • Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s or advanced degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline is preferred
  • In-depth understanding of machine learning and statistical methodologies
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies, including backlog management and release planning
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for project management, backlog tracking, and release coordination
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make data-driven decisions
  • Expertise in programming languages such as Python and R
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner
  • Proficiency in working with large, complex datasets and strong SQL skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, and AWS
  • Previous experience in the real estate industry is an advantage
