Client Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hardware Project Manager and Prototyping Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in managing hardware projects from conception to completion, including prototype development, supplier management, pre-sales support, and product design. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of hardware technologies, excellent project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Management: Lead hardware projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
2. Prototyping: Oversee the prototyping process for custom hardware items, working closely with engineers and designers to bring concepts to life.
3. Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and managing procurement processes.
4. Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise and support during the pre-sales process, including product demonstrations and customer presentations.
5. Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of hardware prototypes and products, identifying and resolving any issues or defects.
6. Product Design: Assist in the creation and design of new hardware products, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and customers.
7. Technical Expertise: Stay updated on the latest hardware technologies and industry trends, providing insights and recommendations to inform product development strategies.
8. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including project plans, specifications, and test reports.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure alignment and coordination across departments.
10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the hardware development and project management processes.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware project management, prototyping, and product development.
3. Strong understanding of hardware technologies and components, including circuit design, PCB layout, and manufacturing processes.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Hands-on experience with hardware testing and troubleshooting techniques.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
7. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
8. Experience with CAD software and design tools is a plus not required
9. Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards and certifications (e.g., FCC, CE) is desirable.
