Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst to join our team in the banking sector. The ideal candidate will be proficient in analyzing complex financial data, interpreting trends, and providing insights contributing to business strategy and decision-making. You will work closely with various departments, including finance, operations, and IT, to deliver data-driven solutions and optimize business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze large sets of banking data (transaction data, customer data, financial reports) to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management.
- Business Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate those requirements into technical specifications for reporting and analysis tools.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to assess business performance, risk analysis, and revenue projections.
- Dashboards & Visualizations: Create interactive dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and assist in decision-making.
- Data Quality & Integrity: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all systems. Identify and resolve data discrepancies and anomalies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that data analysis and reporting comply with banking regulations, industry standards, and internal policies (e.g., Basel III, GDPR).
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in business processes and workflows, leveraging data analysis to propose and implement enhancements.
- Customer Insights: Analyze customer behavior, preferences, and trends to support marketing, customer experience, and product development strategies.
- Risk Analysis: Assist in assessing financial risks, credit risks, and operational risks, providing insights to mitigate potential issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, IT, risk management, and other departments to support data-driven projects and ensure business objectives are met.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Data Analysis Tools: Experience with tools like Excel, SQL, R, Python, or other data analysis platforms for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data.
- Business Intelligence Tools: Hands-on experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) for data visualization and dashboard creation.
- Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial data, banking operations, financial reporting, and key performance metrics.
- Database Management: Experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and ability to write complex SQL queries.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze large data sets and derive actionable insights.
