About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Development to play a pivotal role in the organization's growth and impact. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker who can design and implement comprehensive fundraising programs, align them with the company's strategic initiatives, and lead a team to meet ambitious financial goals. The Vice President will be responsible for all aspects of development, including setting the department's strategic direction, managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, and overseeing the cultivation and stewardship of donors. The role also involves working closely with the Board of Trustees, executive leadership, and a dedicated development team to realize the company's vision for the future. The successful candidate will be a senior development professional with a minimum of 10 years' experience in nonprofit fundraising, particularly in soliciting and stewarding major gifts. Candidates for the Vice President of Development role at the company should have a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, with a strong focus on major gifts, and be comfortable in an environment with a multi-million dollar contributed revenue budget. The position demands excellent communication skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships, and experience in change management. Proficiency in MS Office is essential, and experience with CRM database software, particularly Raiser's Edge, is a plus. The ideal candidate will be a natural connector, with high emotional intelligence, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. While not required, knowledge of the local philanthropy landscape, experience in the arts, and a background in capital campaign planning and execution are preferred.
