We are currently seeking a Part-Time HR Coordinator who shares our passion for innovation, creativity, and results. The role is based in our Toronto office directly reporting to the Vice President of Legal, Assistant General Counsel & Corporate Compliance Officer and will be responsible to support and oversee the day-to-day activities of our Human Resources Department during this dynamic time in the company’s growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement Human Resources strategies and initiatives that deliver overall business strategy.
- Provide input to consult with the Human Resources Committee prior to implementing
- Deliver effective day-to-day Human Resource service delivery in the following areas:
- Assist in the recruitment and selection process including posting job opening, screening resumes and coordinating interviews.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and departing employees.
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in administration of employee benefits programs and answer employee inquires regarding benefits.
- Coordinate employee training sessions and maintain training records.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to positive workplace culture.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payroll data.
- Handle general HR administrative tasks and provide to the Vice President of Legal, Assistant General Counsel & Corporate Compliance Officer as needed.
- Draft and provide employment confirmation letters, HR communications, and other requested documentation on an ad-hoc basis.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, practices, and developments in human resources.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding policies, procedures, and development (including parental leave, vacation leave, flexible work programs and insurance programs among others).
- Work in special projects assigned by the Vice President of Legal, Assistant General Counsel & Corporate Compliance Officer or the Senior Management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Professional Fluency in English (written and verbal skills). Spanish will be valued.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required, CHRP (or working towards) is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience and proven track record of success in roles focused on HR generalist work.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
- Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Thorough knowledge and application of federal employment regulations with focus on Ontario.
- Knowledge of human resource legal requirements trends and practices.
- Strong working knowledge with MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook.
- Problem-solving skills and should be familiar with human resources information systems
- A team player who has the ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic, tremendous integrity, and the ability to be discreet with confidential information.
