Job Description

Our client is looking for an intermediate Solutions Engineer for a short term contract hybrid in Waterloo. The Solutions Engineer will lead the implementation of digital solutions and enhance tech infrastructure to support organizational business objectives. This role includes acting as the in-house tech expert for enterprise digital products, explaining technology to stakeholders, and ensuring platforms deliver the required functionality and performance. The Solutions Architect will work closely with business stakeholders and the product development team to solve complex problems and realize innovative ideas. The ideal candidate will have technical prowess, strong business acumen, and an empathetic, customer-minded attitude.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer or in a related role. (closer to 3-5 years is ideal)
  • Experience with user research and user experience design.
  • Previous project management experience is an asset.
  • Relevant certifications are considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, adaptability, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in systems analysis and design.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Angular, Vue, React, Python, and Powershell.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, automated testing tools, SQL databases, and server-side languages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite and Power platform development tools.
  • Familiarity with AlayaCare and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge is an asset.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, specifically Windows OS.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Solutions Architect will work closely with our Application Development & Digital Product Manager and other team members.
  • The role involves hands-on involvement in designing architecture and coordinating release trains within an Agile environment.
  • The candidate will be involved in proof of concepts (POCs) and learning new technologies as needed.
  • Documenting current state of processes/systems and designing optimized future states with input from relevant stakeholders.
  • Designing robust architecture for software applications that adhere to quality and performance standards.
  • Performing software quality assurance through test planning, development, execution, and closure.
  • Evaluating and enhancing application infrastructure to support solution implementation and scaling.
  • Coordinating cross-departmental efforts to ensure solution compatibility and success.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation for systems and applications.
  • Developing user guides and training manuals for all levels of the organization.
  • Managing and executing pilot programs for new features/products, including overseeing configuration, testing, validation, and gathering feedback.
