Job Description

We are seeking a Recruiting Manager to lead and build out the firm’s first dedicated recruiting function. This role will work in the Oakland office on a hybrid schedule and play a pivotal part in shaping the lateral recruiting strategy, processes, and protocols to attract top legal talent. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position will collaborate with key firm leaders to align recruiting efforts with organizational objectives and ensure the seamless integration of new hires.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to source and recruit lateral attorney talent, with a focus on diversity and alignment with the firm’s strategic goals.
  • Build a robust pipeline of candidates through research, networking events, and engagement with key legal talent across California.
  • Partner with Practice Group Leaders (PGLs) to assess hiring needs and strategies.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruiting process, including candidate evaluation, background and conflict checks, and offer preparation in collaboration with HR, Finance, and Compensation teams.
  • Facilitate smooth integration of new hires into the firm, ensuring alignment with the firm’s culture and values.
  • Enhance the visibility of the firm’s recruitment efforts internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in lateral attorney recruiting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to design and execute recruiting strategies with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with recruiting software such as Dayforce and LawCruit is a plus.
  • A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.

Compensation

  • Salary range: $135,000 - $175,000 (commensurate with experience and location).
