Title: IT Infrastructure Lead – Hybrid Role in Houston, TX


Location: Downtown Houston, TX (Hybrid: Remote work available on Mondays and Fridays)


Job Description:

We’re seeking an IT Infrastructure Lead to oversee a dynamic team of engineers and manage the performance and integrity of the network infrastructure and systems. This role requires someone who is proactive, customer-focused, and skilled at problem-solving while maximizing the efficiency of computing resources.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and leadership experience, capable of managing escalations, ensuring security compliance, and supporting infrastructure growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain resilient company networks.
  • Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers, providing guidance and support.
  • Manage escalated support tickets, maintaining SLAs and ensuring proper communication with end users.
  • Oversee networking technologies, including routing, switching, subnets, VPNs, and SD-WAN.
  • Support and deploy virtual machines and storage solutions in VMware environments.
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams and documentation.
  • Monitor and address potential cybersecurity threats, ensuring system integrity.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and implement security improvements.
  • Collaborate on infrastructure budget management.
  • Participate in disaster recovery implementation and testing.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field.
  • 8+ years of network and security-related experience.
  • Proficiency with EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, DNS, SNMP, SSL VPN, IPSec, DMVPN, MPLS, HSRP, TCP/UDP, and similar protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Meraki networking equipment.
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with SSO, MFA, IAM, RADIUS, and certificates.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and incident management.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cisco ISE and Umbrella.
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Familiarity with Jira or related incident/asset management software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows client operating systems.
