Career Coach
Our client, a workforce development organization located in downtown Boston, is looking for a Career Coach to join their dynamic team. Qualified candidates must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong time management capabilities, a proven ability to teach job search and application skills, experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds, and a strong commitment to the organization’s mission and goals. Compensation: $23-24 hour* (temporary); 47-48K* (permanent)
*salary listed not guaranteed – potential offers vary based on experience level, qualifications, and internal equity and may be outside of this range.
Applicants must be able to work onsite 3 days per week in Boston, MA to be eligible for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct 1:1 meetings with clients to assess needs through interview, observation, and examination of information
- Create individualized plans to ensure that each client has a clear path to achieving their education and employment goals
- Assist clients in goal setting and identifying services leading to education, job training, skills upgrades, and employment
- Function harmoniously as part of the team to provide high quality employment services
- Establish relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate ongoing collaborative work in support of the company mission
- Contact potential/current clients to schedule and confirm appointments using appropriate systems and software
- Deliver top-notch customer service to all clients with a consistent, courteous demeanor and compassionate approach
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with compassion and tact with clients, colleagues, and community partners
- Promote and embody the mission and philosophy both internally and outside the agency
Qualifications:
- Must have an Associate degree in related area (Counseling, Human Resources, Psychology, Social Work, or Education) or 3 years of related experience
- 1-3 years of experience in the workforce development/career coaching/recruiting field
- Excellent knowledge of career coaching tools and strategies
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required
- Bilingual or second language fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole a plus
