Overview


This HR Director oversees the department and all HR activities, serving as an internal consultant and advisor to agency ownership, management, and team members. They foster a positive culture, execute talent acquisition strategies, manage employee relations, develop leaders, and ensure compliance. Reporting directly to agency ownership, they contribute to the leadership group. A strong strategic mindset and alignment of HR strategies with business objectives are crucial, while maintaining our culture. Talent acquisition and leadership are priorities, but agency benefit management and basic administrative HR duties are also important.


Responsibilities


  • Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, and HR practices to create a consistent structure for applicants, guide hiring leaders, ensure new employees succeed, and support retention.
  • Prepare employees for assignments by establishing onboarding, orientation, and training programs.
  • Lead the agency work structure development with ownership and directors to support business objectives.
  • Strategically develop professional development plans for teams and individuals and lead implementation.
  • Ensure employee work results planning, monitoring, and appraisals through coaching, employee relations, and enhancing the employee experience.
  • Improve work relationships, morale, and productivity by collaborating with leadership and employees.
  • Provide strategic guidance on leadership development and talent management.
  • Support organizational changes and ensure alignment with our culture.
  • Oversee job requirements and descriptions for all positions.
  • Implement an enhanced employee benefits and total compensation program.
  • Engage employees to understand benefit needs, monitor trends, and recommend programs.
  • Work with the agency benefit broker to obtain and evaluate bids, maintain compliance, and educate employees.
  • Leverage the HRIS/Benefit Administrative system to support payroll and ensure legal compliance with federal and state HR requirements.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety procedures aligned with the organization’s commitment to a safe work environment.
  • Analyze HR trends and metrics to set strategic HR directions.
  • Continuously learn and improve HR processes for better employee experiences.


Qualifications


  • BS/BA in human resources, business administration or relevant field; MS/MA in human resources or administration is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR management principles and best practices.
  • Proven experience as an organization’s lead HR professional – director-level or above.
  • Full understanding of how an organization operates to meet business objectives.
  • Good business acumen paired with attention to the human elements.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge of HR-related data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills; outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Diligent and firm, with high ethical standards.
