Shape the Future of Spaceflight
In this critical role, you will lead the development of cutting-edge propulsion systems for national security and civil science missions. You will be responsible for the technical success of development programs, from concept to on-orbit demonstration.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical efforts across the development lifecycle, from concept and requirements definition to delivery and on-orbit demonstration.
- Conduct trade studies, evaluate concepts, and size propulsion systems for future missions.
- Perform design, analysis, development engineering, and flight operations tasks.
- Collaborate with engineers across disciplines, including mechanical, fluids, electrical, ground support, software, test, and production.
- Serve as the technical interface with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and subcontractors.
- Develop and analyze test plans and results.
- Implement and maintain rigorous verification and validation processes.
- Lead and motivate teams to achieve key objectives and maintain high performance standards.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience of direct design and development experience in the space propulsion industry (liquid and/or electric).
- Proficiency in analytical/scientific programming (Python, Matlab, Excel, etc.).
- CAD proficiency (Solidworks preferred).
- Knowledge of plasma physics concepts.
- Experience with scientific simulation software.
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly technical environment.
- Experience working in the NewSpace/Space industry
Nice to haves:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Over 7 years of direct design and development experience with mechanical or fluid systems in the space propulsion industry.
- Experience with hardware development/delivery for US government customers (DoD/NASA).
- Expertise in GD&T application and analysis.
- Knowledge in the use of FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred).
- Experience working with DoD, IC, and/or NASA.
