Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Automation Technician to provide outstanding after-sales support. This role involves installing, inspecting, and maintaining paper converting equipment at customer sites. You'll also train customers and their staff on daily operations and troubleshooting, continuously enhancing your expertise through study, technical manuals, and guidance from colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise:
- Mastery of SIEMENS systems (PLC S7 300 Failsafe, Profibus, Profinet, SINAMICS DRIVES).
- Proficient with Allen Bradley systems (RSLOGIX 5000, Kinetix 6000, Kinetix 7000).
- Skilled in Structured Text and Ladder programming languages.
Industry Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of the tissue converting industry, with at least 5 years of experience.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
Machine Commissioning and Troubleshooting:
- Commission and fine-tune machine sections for optimal operation.
- Assist clients with retrofits and provide post-installation support.
Training and Client Support:
- Train client maintenance teams on machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Oversee equipment installation, wiring, and quality checks.
- Conduct power-on checks and adjust control systems as needed.
Continuous Learning and Reporting:
- Commit to ongoing education on Siemens and Rockwell systems.
- Submit detailed reports and complete time sheets promptly.
- Document and refine procedures to align with company standards.
Collaboration and Feedback:
- Work with the Customer’s Process Technician to identify program modifications and provide feedback to the engineering team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with tissue converting machinery.
- In-depth knowledge of Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and precise control system adjustments.
- Effective communication skills for training and reporting.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Willingness to travel for on-site support and training.
