ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and nurture strong customer relationships within a collaborative selling environment.
- Oversee timely deliveries according to the routing schedule and address any issues during the order process (e.g., delivery mispicks, short loads, stock-outs).
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding account receivables, working in partnership with the credit department to collect all outstanding balances.
- Explore new business opportunities by utilizing market intelligence databases, networking, and attending industry events.
- Stay informed about market trends, product innovations, and competitor activities to provide customers with valuable insights.
- Travel to visit current and prospective clients, ensuring seamless product delivery, which may involve handling weights up to 75lbs.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Internal: Collaborate with District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, and other departments.
- External: Engage with customers, vendors, and potential clients.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work primarily in the field, visiting customers in varying weather and temperature conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ year of sales experience is preferred.
- Experience in foodservice, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
- A proven ability to build relationships and cold call to generate new business.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- A results-driven mindset with a competitive spirit.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- A collaborative attitude to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is preferable.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
LICENSES:
A valid driver's license is required, and a good standing motor vehicle record is mandatory.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position involves various physical activities, including:
- Standing, walking, and driving frequently.
- Sitting frequently.
- Lifting and carrying weights between 1-20 lbs frequently; up to 50 lbs occasionally; and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Occasionally stooping, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
- Regularly grasping, manipulating, and demonstrating manual dexterity.
The expected base salary for this role ranges from $50,000 to $90,000, with potential for incentive compensation.
