Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for Operations Supervisor.
Position Overview:
The Operations Supervisor - will play a key role in overseeing daily operational activities while driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for leading a team of associates, ensuring efficient and effective operations, and implementing Lean principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process improvement, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations to ensure workflow efficiency, safety, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of 60 associates, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Identify, implement, and sustain Lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis to eliminate waste and improve processes.
- Analyze operational performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and initiate corrective actions to ensure productivity goals are met.
- Develop and maintain standard work, process flow, and SOPs to ensure consistent, high-quality operations.
- Facilitate regular Gemba walks, daily huddles, and continuous improvement workshops to engage the team in identifying and solving operational challenges.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, cycle time, OEE, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute improvement projects that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and foster a culture of safety within the team through proactive training, audits, and corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis using Lean tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) to resolve operational issues and drive problem-solving at the source.
- Provide coaching and development to team members, ensuring the consistent application of Lean methodologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in an operations supervisory role, with a strong focus continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in implementing Lean principles such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Proficient in using data and metrics to identify trends, drive decisions, and implement process improvements.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience with WMS, ERP systems, and continuous improvement software is a plus.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) is a plus.
