Department of Neurology

Faculty Position in Epilepsy

The University of Iowa, Department of Neurology, is recruiting a faculty member specializing in Epilepsy. The appointment will be on the tenure or clinical track, with rank based on qualifications. The position includes:

  • Providing outpatient care in the Epilepsy Clinic.
  • Attending on the inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
  • Reading EEG and IOM studies in the EEG laboratory.
  • Taking EEG call responsibilities.

The successful candidate will join a team of six adult epileptologists and two additional EEG/IOM readers. The University of Iowa Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is the only NAEC Level 4 epilepsy center in the state of Iowa, offering unique opportunities for clinical care and research.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD/DO degree or equivalent.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurology.
  • Completion of a fellowship in EEG, Epilepsy, or Clinical Neurophysiology.
  • Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Iowa.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neurology, with added qualifications in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching students and residents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A strong academic or educational track record.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds.
