About the Role
The Company is seeking a Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs to provide strategic leadership and vision for the academic community. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing academic programs and strategies that promote student success, reduce equity gaps, and support the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty. This role requires a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly in the context of supporting underrepresented minority students and faculty. The Provost will also be tasked with overseeing institutional research, monitoring best practices in academic affairs, and ensuring the relevance of the curriculum to regional and community needs. Candidates for the Provost position at the company should have a distinguished record in teaching and scholarship, with an earned doctorate and a strong academic background. Senior administrative experience in a comprehensive, public university is essential, as is a proven track record in fiscal and budget management, and experience in generating new revenue streams. The ideal candidate will have a history of successfully managing academic enterprises within a shared governance and union environment, and a demonstrated commitment to faculty development and student success. Strong communication skills, the ability to build partnerships, and a focus on fostering a culture of civility, inclusion, and social justice are also required. The Provost will be expected to work closely with the President and other senior leaders, and to serve as a representative of the institution in various internal and external capacities.
