About the Role

The Company is seeking a Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs to serve as the chief academic officer and lead the institution's academic mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, student learning, and faculty recruitment and development. The Provost will also play a key role in supporting central institutional priorities, such as closing equity gaps in graduation rates and recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty. This position requires a distinguished record in teaching and scholarship, an earned doctorate, and the ability to be appointed at the rank of professor with tenure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiscal and budget management, experience in a shared governance and union environment, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.The Provost will be expected to collaborate with various campus constituencies to develop and implement academic programs that promote student success and reduce equity gaps. They should have a proven track record in supporting student success strategies, particularly for underrepresented minority students, and in recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty. The role also involves overseeing the academic budget, managing enrollment for matriculated students, and supervising a large academic leadership team. The candidate should be an engaged and team-focused leader, with strong communication skills and the ability to foster an environment of civility, inclusion, and social justice. Experience in securing external funding and building partnerships with the community is also desirable.
