About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Sponsored Programs to lead its newly established office, which is pivotal to the management of all aspects of the life cycle of sponsored programs. This role is essential for supporting the company's ambitious research goals and will involve the design and facilitation of a unified approach to pre-award and post-award functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and training for a team of grants and contracts personnel, ensuring compliance with federal and other sponsor regulations, and developing policies to improve processes. They will also be tasked with gathering and reporting on metrics to support strategic goals, fostering relationships with the research community, and coordinating with various agencies to stay abreast of industry developments.Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, business, or finance, with a minimum of 8 years' of professional post-graduate experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. A Master's in Research Administration, experience in a university setting, and a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation are preferred. The role requires a strong leader with expertise in research administration compliance, regulations, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be adept at process improvement, have a thorough understanding of sponsored programs, and be able to effectively manage the financial administration of grants and contracts. They should also be skilled in team management, communication, and fostering a culture of collaboration and high-quality service.
