About the Role

The Company is seeking a Professor/Associate Professor and Chair for its Department of Biology. The successful candidate will be a distinguished senior scholar with a Ph.D. in biological sciences or a closely related field, and a sustained record of teaching, service, and scholarly achievements. The Chair will be responsible for academic and administrative leadership, including teaching one course per semester, maintaining an active research program, mentoring students, and contributing to the success of the department and the mission of the university. The role also involves curriculum innovation, the development of new programs, and a commitment to increasing externally funded research and innovation.Applicants for the Chair position at the company's Department of Biology should have a strong background in biological sciences, with research and teaching experience in areas such as cellular and molecular biology, marine sciences, ecology, genetics, and environmental science. The ideal candidate will have a successful record of maintaining a competitively funded research program, experience with shared governance, and administrative, research, and teaching philosophies that align with the department and university's goals.
