Commercial Real Estate Paralegal
A national real estate company is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to support its legal department. This role is 100% in-person at the company’s headquarters in Miami Lakes and involves assisting with real estate transactions, litigation discovery, and coordination with outside counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review legal documents, correspondence, and closing binders for commercial real estate transactions, including leases, purchases, sales, and financing.
- Coordinate title matters with title insurance companies and law firms from pre-closing to post-closing.
- Oversee due diligence processes for sales, acquisitions, and commercial loans.
- Assist with commercial landlord-tenant matters.
- Handle local government inquiries and lien searches.
- Form entities in connection with real estate acquisitions.
- Maintain organized files, track deadlines, and update internal databases.
- Draft and summarize key terms and critical dates for real estate acquisitions.
- Assist attorneys in drafting leases, contracts, and correspondence.
- Coordinate discovery responses with outside counsel.
- Manage litigation calendars for mediations, discovery, and court hearings.
- Administer third-party claims, including initial review, internal coordination, and insurer communication.
- Process invoices for outside counsel fees and litigation costs.
- Perform general clerical duties (filing, mailing, scanning, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department, preferably in commercial real estate or property management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong grammar and spelling. A writing sample may be required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) .
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a multi-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate law.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish .
- Certification or degree in Paralegal Studies, Real Estate Sales, Property Management , or a related field.
- Experience with claims administration or contract administration .
