Laboratory Blood Bank Supervisor The Laboratory Blood Bank Supervisor role is a crucial position at our Coachella-based facility, offering a unique opportunity to lead and oversee the Blood Bank Section of the Laboratory. This position is integral to our mission, involving the responsibility for the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with best practices, and promoting evidence-based blood management and transfusion practices. The role not only demands high-level oversight but also a hands-on approach when necessary, making it ideal for dynamic leaders in the medical technology field. Salary: $146,454 to $170,372 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the Blood Bank Section's daily operations to ensure efficient and effective performance. Oversee compliance with industry standards and regulations to maintain high-quality laboratory services. Monitor workflows and protocols in the Blood Bank, implementing improvements and ensuring adherence to best practices. Mentor and develop staff, providing educational resources and continuous support for professional growth. Engage in strategic planning and execution of evidence-based blood management and transfusion practices. Ensure the preparation and readiness of staff to perform bench tasks during high-demand periods or staffing challenges. Handle administrative functions such as reporting, budgeting, and maintaining accurate records. Minimum Position Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in medical technology, laboratory science, or a closely related field. Completion of a Clinical Laboratory Science internship or similar laboratory specialty training. Current and valid CLS license issued by the State of California Department of Health. A minimum of five years of experience and/or training in blood banking. Commitment to completing at least 12 continuing education units annually as required for licensure. Capability to perform bench work in the laboratory as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Prior leadership or supervisory experience within a clinical or medical laboratory setting. Strong foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in blood banking and transfusion services. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and interact with stakeholders. Proven ability to solve problems creatively and manage laboratory operations efficiently. Demonstrated commitment to upholding and promoting high standards of laboratory practices. Skills: Exceptional leadership and management skills. Advanced knowledge of blood bank regulatory requirements and quality control practices. Proficiency in the use of laboratory information systems and medical technologies relevant to blood banking. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to mentor and motivate staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
